Enterprise Vision Awards At The Houses of Parliament

A group of 17 Enterprise Vision Awards Cumbrian finalists are heading to the Houses of Parliament. On Tuesday 11 September, our MD, Coral Horn, will be joining these enterprising business women.

As a result of their success in reaching the final stage of the 2018 EVA awards, the finalists from all over the Lake District are invited to London by their local MP, Tim Farron. In a recent interview in the NWE Mail, Tim Farron said

“It was a real pleasure to meet these ladies and hear all about how they have built their businesses.

“We know that we have a fantastic pool of talent in Cumbria. As a county, it’s buzzing with creative individuals and entrepreneurs.

“I applaud the achievements of these businesswomen and will be supporting them all as they continue to shine a light on our very special corner of the UK.”

For this reason, Tim Farron decided to reward his Cumbrian businesswomen. It is clear that female entrepreneurs are flying the flag for women’s enterprise in the Lake District. They are shortlisted in a wide variety of categories: retail business, hospitality, small business, solo business, financial services, internet industry and the creative industry. Their businesses range from local crafts, tasty treats and stunning accommodation to professional services. Furthermore, taking part in the EVA’s is a great way to raise the profile of these talented female-led businesses. To say they are excited is an understatement.

Consequently, the train journey down to London will be lively and probably rather loud.  Maybe we should send them with earplugs to hand out to fellow passengers travelling on the same train!

The Enterprise Vision Awards

Coral founded the Enterprise Vision Awards (EVA’s) in 2011. The annual awards celebrate the successes of women in business and their achievements.

Most importantly, women are given the chance to raise the profile of their business and lead to even greater success. Thousands of women from all over the North West enter the EVA’s. Consequently, the battle to be a winner of an EVA is intense. It’s the award they all want!

Each year the awards ceremony is going from strength to strength. Last year over 630 people attended the awards and this year looks to be even bigger.

The awards provide a huge platform for female entrepreneurs from all over the North West. Furthermore, there is a huge opportunity to network and make valuable connections that will provide support, future business and lasting friendships. Above all, entering the EVA’s can open even more doors that you previously had only dreamt about.

This year, the Enterprise Vision Awards will be held on Friday 28th September at The Winter Gardens in Blackpool. If you want to attend the 2018 EVA’s and experience for yourself the excitement, you can buy tickets for the event here.
