A group of 17 Enterprise Vision Awards Cumbrian finalists are heading to the Houses of Parliament. On Tuesday 11 September, our MD, Coral Horn, will be joining these enterprising business women.
As a result of their success in reaching the final stage of the 2018 EVA awards, the finalists from all over the Lake District are invited to London by their local MP, Tim Farron. In a recent interview in the NWE Mail, Tim Farron said
“It was a real pleasure to meet these ladies and hear all about how they have built their businesses.
“We know that we have a fantastic pool of talent in Cumbria. As a county, it’s buzzing with creative individuals and entrepreneurs.
“I applaud the achievements of these businesswomen and will be supporting them all as they continue to shine a light on our very special corner of the UK.”
For this reason, Tim Farron decided to reward his Cumbrian businesswomen. It is clear that female entrepreneurs are flying the flag for women’s enterprise in the Lake District. They are shortlisted in a wide variety of categories: retail business, hospitality, small business, solo business, financial services, internet industry and the creative industry. Their businesses range from local crafts, tasty treats and stunning accommodation to professional services. Furthermore, taking part in the EVA’s is a great way to raise the profile of these talented female-led businesses. To say they are excited is an understatement.
Consequently, the train journey down to London will be lively and probably rather loud. Maybe we should send them with earplugs to hand out to fellow passengers travelling on the same train!
The Enterprise Vision Awards
Coral founded the Enterprise Vision Awards (EVA’s) in 2011. The annual awards celebrate the successes of women in business and their achievements.
