Pink Link at Ladies Day Aintree 2019

Ladies Day at Aintree is always a social highlight of the Pink Link calendar. It’s a time for a celebration, frivolousness and friendship! Out come the posh frock, the heels, the bag and a new hat to knock ’em dead!

This year, was absolutely fabulous! Rachel Riches at The Village Hotel was the hostess with the mostest. With bacon butties and Bucks Fizz, glasses were replenished and tummies were lined with gusto!

Blackpool Transport’s new double-decker bus ensured we travelled in style. It was a lively affair as we stopped to collect more Pink Link Ladies and their friends and family along the way. The Preston Marriott had also offered a champagne breakfast to our Prestonians! It wasn’t long before the goody bags were emptied and the celebrations began. The champagne flutes appeared and the prosecco flowed. Ready-mixed pink gin and tonics were sipped with the pretty steel straws courtesy of The Last Straw.

Jeanette was celebrating her special birthday and was treated to a rendition of Happy Birthday! Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that Simon Cowell will be awarding the golden buzzer for the peformance!

Brian’s House had donated a hamper of chocolate and we added a bottle of fizz for a raffle. Thank you to eveyone who contributed to the raffle. We raised £305 and Louise Wood was the lucky winner!

With so many stunning outfits it was difficult to say who looked the best. So, when we arrived at Aintree, we saddled Dave, the driver with the job! Laura was a worthy winner!

Ladies Day at Aintree is a splendid affair. Months are spent planning the special outfit. Ladies dress up to the nines and jockey for key position to win the Best Dressed competition.

Fabulous Friday fantastic opportunity to spend a special day with your friends and loved ones. It’s like being at a huge party. The fizz flows and tens of thousands of race goers are keen to share their joie de vie with you. There are some unusual sights – but their unbridled enthusiasm add to the fun of the day.

Some of our ladies were spotted by the press! Charlotte Derham was interviewed on This Morning, Coral had her photo taken with Alison Hammond and Camille and Elizabeth Manford were interviewed by BBC Radio Merseyside! We keep seeing photos of our ladies in the press – stunning!

There was a festival spirit as a Take That tribute band as the day drew to a close.

Everyone had a fantastic time and Coral managed to find a pair of shoes that had been lost in West Tip! All part of the Pink Link service!

We cheered and laughed so much, that we were rather horse as we made our way home. Have a look at the photos from the day on our Facebook album – please feel free to share, tag and Like.
