Introducing our speakers for International Women’s Day Cumbria – Catherine Houlihan and Rosie Dummer!

Catherine Houlihan is the Managing Editor for ITV Border. Catherine started her career in local newspapers before moving into television in the 1990’s. She worked at ITN in London until her move into television news management. She has been Head of News at Border, Tyne Tees and Anglia and is also is the Chief Examiner for Broadcast Journalism at the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ). Come along and find out what she is looking for and how to get your story noticed.

Rosie Dummer—from the first female helicopter pilot in the British Army to the Channel 4’s Extreme Cake Maker! Rosie Dummer left the army to raise her family and now she makes money whilst she sleeps! With over 1 million followers on social media, Rosie works with a host of celebrities including James Martin, Lorraine Kelly and travels the world presenting the most fabulous cake shows. Find out how you can have your cake and eat it too.

Samantha Parker is a West Cumbria reporter at ITV Border. She will be joining us at #IWD2020 – if you have a story, she wants to know about it! Samantha has also be holding Confidence in front of the Camera sessions to help female entrepreneurs to feel more confident and positive about taking part in tv interviews.
