It’s A Hat Trick – Three Cumbrian Networks

Author – Coral Horn of Pink Link

Following on from the success of Pink Link in Carlisle and Kendal, Award winning entrepreneur, Alison Magee-Barker launched the third Pink Link network in Cumbria – Pink Link Penrith!

It was a great way to start the new year! It would take more than the latest lockdown announcement and snowy weather to stop the newest Pink Link network from being a roaring success.

The meeting brought together entrepreneurs from across the region to network and promote their business. It wasn’t simply about business though. Pink Link encourages women to support each other. Home schooling, furlough, business being put on hold, as well as the emotional burn out from yet more Covid restrictions were amongst the topics discussed.

From the comfort of converted home offices the meeting flew by. Introductions were made, experiences and ideas were shared and connections and introductions were suggested.

Guest Speaker – Kirsty Ridge

Guest Speaker, female entrepreneur, Kirsty Ridge of The Lakeland Inns Group and The Lakeland Brewhouse gave a rousing, dynamic talk. Winner of the Hospitality Industry Award at the 2018 Enterprise Vision Awards, Kirsty’s talk had the audience spell bound.

As a young mum of twin girls, Kirsty’s life is full to the brim. Whilst adding more bespoke pubs to her portfolio, expanding the brewery, employing more staff and improving the business through the pandemic, Kirsty has also been on a fabulous journey of personal development. Following a Pink Link event for International Women’s Day in Cumbria, Kirsty was introduced by Susanna Lawson of One File UK to participate in the prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Programme. With a £250,000 expansion plan in the pipeline and more exciting developments ahead, as well as starting a new hobby – horse riding, complete with her own two horses and stables, this entrepreneur is one to watch in 2021!
