N-Vision is a sight loss support charity
N-Vision is an independent charity that provides services and support to anyone with reduced vision in the Blackpool Fylde and Wyre area. Originally founded as Blackpool Fylde and Wyre Society for the Blind in 1910, the charity changed it’s trading name to N-Vision in 2011.
Here’s a quick look at what we do:
The Princess Alexandra Home
The Princess Alexandra Home specialises in residential care for the visually impaired. They are dedicated to providing the highest standards of care and support for up to 40 residents. As well as residential care, short term and respite care is available.
Low Vision Centre
Coming to term with sight loss is not easy. For many people, being told that they have a sight problem causes a range of emotions. There are feelings of panic, anger, frustration and a loss of confidence. There is also the fear of losing their independence. The Low Vision Centre offers help, emotional and practical support and information. This includes anyone with reduced vision, their families, friends and carers. . We can also provide Sight Awareness Training by our team based in the Low Vision Centre.
Talking Newspaper Service
The Talking Newspaper is recorded each week at our studio. Using the latest digital recording equipment. extracts are recorded from a variety of newspapers and magazines. These are sent out to hundreds of users to listen in the comfort of their own homes.
N-Vision Charity Shops
Our running costs are over £300,000 a year to fund. N-Vision has two charity shops that sell good quality clothing, furniture, media and bric-a-brac. The shops in Highfield Road, Blackpool and Victoria Road West, Cleveleys play a major role in raising much needed financial support.

Care Givers at Home
Care Givers at Home is part of the trading arm of N-Vision. They provide high quality specialist home support that encourages independence and wellbeing. All profits made are channelled back into the organisation to help maintain sustainability.
